City seeking input on historic preservation

Hoping to imbue updates to its historic-preservation plan with the will and vision of local property and business owners, Iowa City is playing host to a series of meetings aimed at spurring public backing for continued conservation efforts.

The latest meeting, held Thursday night at St. Thomas More Church, 405 N. Riverside Drive, drew some 30 people, most of whom live in the Melrose and Manville Heights neighborhoods.
