Collaborative Research Projects with China

The Australian Government will increase funding for scientists undertaking collaborative research projects with China, in recognition of the growing significance of the bilateral relationship between the two countries. The Australia-China Special Fund for Scientific and Technological Cooperation, established by an MOU in 2000, aims to strengthen bilateral science and technology collaboration between the two countries. Australia and China provide funding, with each country contributing to the costs of its own nationals. 26 April 2006
